Three ports, three jobs. Get them right before you look for a script problem.

Controller in A1 or the menu will not open
The mod menu (hold L2/LT, press Options/Menu) only answers when the controller is in A1. If it stays closed, check A1 first, then that the script is running in a slot, then that the build is current.
Kill switch and LED

Deadzones
In 2K, set controller deadzones to about 5% on both sticks. Raise them if you get drift.
